Sex, Drugs, Rock And Roll


We live in a world that places great emphasis on fun, pleasure and enjoyment.   We are told to get all the gusto out of life and to keep your sights on the next party, the next relationship and the next fantastic excitement.  Lets just have a blast!


If living for the gusto or pleasure is so rewarding, then why is there the talk of “where are you going to crash”  or  “you can crash at my place”?    The truth is that these kind of parties and thoughts all eventually come to an end.


One of the central motivators of riotous living is premarital sex.  Do you happen to know that sex before marriage causes you to lose your virginity?    But we say, who cares about virginity?   Isn’t that something that just needs to be thrown away?   After all, what good is an unopened can of beans and what good is a un-pealed banana or an unbitten apple.   The truth is that there is one person that cares very very much about whether or not you stay a virgin until you are married.    Who is this person that cares so much that you stay a virgin until you are married?  The person that will be your husband or wife.


Test this theory with your own feelings.   Do you want a second hand wife or husband?  After all, how much does a car value drop after you drive it off the showroom floor and what good is someone’s already bitten apple; it could be contaminated.  As you can see, your virginity has a very great value, even much more value than any piece of property.


To begin to understand the value of your virginity, we must peek briefly into the hidden hearts of many who have or will divorce their spouses.   The Lord, being a jealous God, made man and woman in his own image and as a result we possess jealousy.  Lets say five or ten years from now, you meet that wonderful young man or young woman of you dreams.  It is your responsibility to let your fiancé know whether or not you are a virgin.  Would you be foolish enough to try to sell a used car labeled as new?   Would you want your honesty rated with a car salesman that ran the mileage back to all zeros on a fifty thousand mile car?   Your potential spouse will likely find out the truth sooner or later; and guess what?   Your dishonesty here will likely be the root cause of your very own divorce, even many years later.


The nasty little secret of most divorces today is that most are actually rooted in sex before marriage.   The spouse finds out and for a time appears to get over it, but after an argument, a financial dispute or other common aggravation gets so upset that he or she eventually goes out to get even by sleeping with another woman or man and you guessed it, DIVORCE.   In almost all cases, the marriage would certainly survive with most of the common aggravations but those nagging thoughts that your husband or wife could not even manage to abstain from sex until your marriage really takes the cake.  Further facts concerning marriage and the terrible devastation of some of the sexually transmitted diseases can be found in our letter entitled, “Marriage, the Blessing or Divorce, the Curse”.


Do you see how a little premarital sex can affect you life?    Well lets take it a little further.   Premarital sex puts a curse on you, your family and even your marriage to come.   This is not the end.   There is the guilt, the potential child of unwed parents, the diseases and plagues, and yes the curse on your very own potential children.   The Bible predicts that your sins will curse your children to the third and fourth generations.   If this is what you want to do, hang out with the wrong people, don’t go to a Bible preaching church, listen to the worldly tune of seductive music and games and entertain your lustful thoughts and desires.   You will learn big lessons in your reaping years and your children will suffer from the curses you placed on them.


The Bible says, “Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.?”    Exodus 34:7


Do you know that one is most apt to lose their virginity only after they have been conditioned?    One type of Conditioning is done with Drugs, which certainly includes alcohol, beer and wine.    Drugs and alcohol cause you to lose control.    Even music with beats and words that approve of the sin of premarital sex and the use of drugs and alcohol will help to condition you for the fall.   Watching programs or pictures that display other people involved in sex are motivating factors that will lead you down the road of disappointment.   Also getting angry or going without sleep will aggravate one’s ability to keep control.


Furthermore, this letter can not begin to asses or reveal the damage done to one’s conscience which carries the terrific burden and anguish of unforgiven sins.   The poison and further seduction of lustful rock and worldly sounding music is commonly used in a futile attempt to drown out the truth of a righteous and solemn Holy God and the knowledge of the inevitable, certain day of wrath upon the unrighteous.


“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”  1 Corinthians 6:9-10


A True Gospel Church will teach you that even protected sex will not protect you from the ravaging  consequences of sexual sin.   The consequences of sin are always far worse and last longer than the apparent benefit of sin.  Sin is iniquity.  Iniquity separates you and your unrepentant prayers from God.  “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”    Isaiah 59:2


You’ve probably heard of the expression that “birds of a feather flock together”.  This is precisely how most people get into real problems that cause destruction in their years to come.   If you are determined that you don’t won’t to destroy a part of your life that you can’t replace, there is hope.  Find a True Gospel Church, get personally involved with the Spiritual things of God, open the door of your heart to the Lord and invite Jesus to be Lord of your life.   Only He can rescue you from the tempting traps of iniquity.


A personal relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ, is truly the only way to become and remain spiritually strong and then the Lord will continually direct you toward proper friends and associates, including a time that God may so choose a proper husband or wife for you.   Selecting mates or friends  without the Lord almost always results in serious trouble.


Stay away from individuals whose lifestyle will eventually take you to Hell with them, rather find those who will lead you into truth and righteousness.  The Lord loves you and knows exactly what is the best for you.


What should you do if you’ve already taken the devil’s bait and the trap has sprung?


Step 1:   Repent.  Purpose in your heart to sincerely change.  “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”   Luke  13:3


Step 2:  Acknowledge your sin to God.  If you are to marry, make sure your fiancé knows your impurity.“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”   Romans 10:9-10


Step 3: Ask for forgiveness and take new steps in the Spirit of God and get new and trustworthy friends.  “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”   Proverbs 3:5-6


Step 4: Stay away from all compromising, lustful, tempting, sinful or inappropriate situations.  Confide in and seek God’s will from the Bible and advice of a Godly person who may be a parent, Pastor or other person, that you can talk with and draw strength from.
